Steve began his insurance broking career at Sedgwicks, where he gained valuable experience in placing International Property and Construction risks in the Lloyds and Company markets over a period of 8 years.
His Private Client and Fine Art insurance broking experience encompasses looking after historic houses, art and antiques dealers, private and corporate art collections, together with Fine Art Auctioneers.
In 1996, Steve formed Smith Ross Shane & Company Limited, creating a successful and well-respected business which provided broking services for private and corporate clients. In 2007 Steve merged his company with that of his long-term business colleague Giles Greenfield, forming Smith Greenfield Services Plc. The business continues to flourish by harnessing the expertise, energy and professionalism of its staff to deliver a truly market leading and bespoke broking service to its clients.
Away from business, Steve is a dedicated father to 3 sons. He enjoys playing and coaching football, playing the guitar and relaxing with friends given the opportunity!
